From the pew to the pulpit. Grateful for supporting Water In Communication 2025

After two years of joining as a participant, in June 2025, Cecile and I worked together to deliver a very successful Water in Communications 2025 series that attracted nearly 2000 registrations.

The training brought together some 15 thoughtfully selected professionals from different, yet relevant, fields to serve as resource persons sharing ideas on how to tell impactful stories. From reflecting on historical water engagements to putting water on the front burner of global conversations; reimagining water stories; connecting with the indigenous people’s perspectives; challenging cooperates and businesses’ approach to sustainability; helping practitioners understand power dynamics; leveraging data and AI; to inspiring a new look for collective action. I dare to say it was a nearly exhaustive training programme that strengthened the knowledge and communication skills of journalists and environmental communicators who actively participated.

Over the last few weeks, we have been joyed to see some of the impacts of this training captured in many blog articles, LinkedIn posts and even an award! Excited about the 6 of the many participants (regional, gender and thematic diverse) selected to pitch their project and maybe onboard new passionate and experienced colleagues to bring to life their ideas about water and communication.
